David Lloyd

David is a certified tinkerer whose interest in electromechanics was fueled early on when he received his first Meccano engineering and robotics building set. As he grew he became interested in speed and was soon building electric go-karts for his kids to race around the neighbourhood. He passed down his love of speed and building machines to his 3 children, all of which went on to obtain Engineering Degrees from the UofA. David received his Electrical Engineering Degree from the University of Waterloo and spent 3 decades as a Control Systems Specialist. After retiring from Spartan Controls he co-founded EV Underground with the goal of merging his passion for custom vehicles with the performance of EV components.

Jason Arnold

Jason claims his favourite toy growing up was a screwdriver because he was always taking things apart to see how they work. Later in life he pursued design and technology as a career path, but always had a passion for classic and custom vehicles, so was quite taken by the notion of mixing it all into one pursuit. After leaving a career in IT in 2010 to start on this new adventure, he earned Diplomas in both Energy Systems and Controls Systems Technology, took on an extensive self-study of EV conversions as the Lead Contributor and Chief Editor for the EVtv “Friday Show” index – an exhaustive chronicle of a weekly webisode dedicated to EV conversions – as well as attended annual Electric Vehicle Conversion Conventions (EVCCON) from 2010-2015. Now, as co-founder of EV Underground, he is excited to finally be realizing a dream 10+ years in the making.
